Erwin Olaf’s second solo exhibition at Hamiltons

Recent Work, Erwin Olaf’s second solo exhibition at Hamiltons introduces London to Dawn & Dusk, first shown at The Museum of The City of New York. It also features new images from the series Hotel, initiated in 2008 with Hotel 1, Kyoto; a continuation of Olaf’s exploration of mood, period and style as begun in his trilogy Rain, Hope and Grief, shown at Hamiltons in late 2008.

Fernand Fonssagrives at Michael Hoppen gallery

The Michael Hoppen gallery is delighted to announce an exhibition of work by one of America’s foremost fashion photographers Fernand Fonssagrives.
Once the highest paid photographers in the world, he was ambivalent about the acclaim he received in his chosen field, preferring to remain anonymous. Little was written about him, even at the peak of his success. He was linked to the early ‘Design Laboratory’ classes of Alexey Brodovitch, and was a key member of the close knit group of photographers now celebrated as ‘The New York School.

From September 12 through December 20, 2009, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) will present two exhibitions organized by Lisa Sutcliffe, SFMOMA’s assistant curator of photography: The Provoke Era: Postwar Japanese Photography and Photography Now: China, Japan, Korea.
The exhibitions feature pictures from SFMOMA’s extensive collection of postwar Japanese photography, one of the most highly regarded in the country, and from the museum’s growing collection of contemporary photographs from China, Japan, and Korea.
