Alberto Giacometti at Fondation Maeght

The exhibition will take place from 27 June to 31 October 2010 at the Fondation Maeght in Saint Paul de Vence, a place steeped in history, friendship and passion for Alberto Giacometti.

The curator particularly wished to exhibit works from the foundation’s collection and that of the Maeght family. These are joined by other exceptional works from international public and private collections, some being shown for the first time, to fully convey the curator’s intention.

Sotheby’s to sell a major monumental sculptureby Alberto Giacometti

On Wednesday, February 3, 2010, Sotheby’s will offer for sale one of the most important sculptures by Alberto Giacometti ever to have come to the auction market: L’Homme qui marche I, a life-size work that ranks among the most arresting and iconic of the artist’s bronzes. Its appearance at auction in February will mark the first time a Giacometti figure of a walking man inthismonumentalsizehascometoauctioninover20years.* More than that, this particular piece has the distinction of being a life-time cast.
