Contemporary ceramics is a rich field of creativity in Japan. Artists have undertaken many and various forms of research. And if each of them has found their own way of making their clay speak, they are all in agreement on the role of the artist-creator.

This role is to feed off the past, while incorporating outside stimuli and transmitting, through the medium of clay, their own experience. The avowed and constant goal is constantly to renew this art and to push its limits to the outmost.
