From a “Directoire” inspiration, with large oval back, gondola-shaped armrests and sculpted frame. Sculpted front feet and sabre Back feet. Recovered with a fabric leopard imitation.
Comments :
The original model was created in 1913 for Jacques Doucet when the famous fashion designer asked Paul Iribe to decorate his appartment 46, avenue du Bois. The bergère was realized in mahogany with ebony inlays.
One of the two bergères used to bear the manufacturing brand Malin & Millan successors of Roll, 42 Faubourg Saint Antoine à Paris.
